The city of Jamul is located just minutes South/South East of Rancho San Diego and also borders Spring Valley. Jamul covers nearly 17 square miles of land within the city limits. In March 2012, the developer in partnership with the tribe cancelled its contract, therefore putting a huge challenge in front of the tribe. The tribe has offered to work with the community and build a venue that fits their desires.

Jamul Real estate is mostly high end custom homes and no condominium projects. The median home price in Jamul is $440,000, which is down nearly 3% year over year. Jamul has a cost of living over 75% more than the Us Average. The median household income in Jamul is $115,000.The average Jamul resident has lived in their property for over 5 years. 80% of all Jamul Homes are occupied by the owner of the home. The median age is 39.

Although Jamul is located in Rural East County, it is only 18 miles from Lindbergh Field, 14 Miles to Qualcomm Stadium, and only 4 miles from Cuyamaca College. Steele Canyon High School is the ain high school for Jamul Residents.
